You’re Wasting Time Shaving…Get 1,723 extra hours back in your life

Woman in bra, shaving her armpit, with look of pain on her face from shaving, man with towel draped over shoulders, shaving cream on face, grimacing at razorYears ago I went on a vacation with my friend. Every morning I spent 20 minutes waiting for her to finish shaving before we could head out to enjoy the day. EVERY....SINGLE....MORNING! She couldn’t lay on the beach with stubble. It made me really appreciate, at that time, that I waxed so I only had to think about dealing with unwanted hair every 4-6 weeks or so. Recently, I remembered that time and I started wondering how much time the average person spends dealing with their unwanted body hair, so I researched it.....

Women spend over $22,000 and 72 days shaving their legs over the course of a lifetime - approximately 1,728 hours.

Men spend 45 days shaving their beard and neck or 1,080 hours over their lifetime!

Are you kidding me??! That is just leg hair, not even bikini or underarms. I can only imagine how long it takes to shave a man's back!

Shaving is the daily ritual most people loathe the most. If you skip it, you have to deal with uncomfortable (maybe even embarrassing) stubble. You have to plan your shaving schedule around your social events so your skin looks (and feels) smooth and silky. We have all been caught in situations where you have to unexpectedly raise your arms and you chose the wrong T-shirt to wear that day!

What would you do with 1,723 extra hours in your life? The longer you put off laser hair removal, the more hours you waste unnecessarily.

According to the book, 'Plucked: A History of Hair Removal' written in 2016 by Rebecca M. Herzing, “American women who shave (a relatively inexpensive way to remove hair) will spend, on average, more than $10,000 and nearly two entire months of their lives simply managing unwanted hair. The woman who waxes once or twice a month will spend more than $23,000 dollars over the course of her lifetime. Most American men, too, now routinely remove facial hair, and increasing numbers modify hair elsewhere on their bodies."

Now, those were the prices in 2017. As we are aware, in the last couple of years, prices across the board have doubled. I remember when a Brazilian was $25...now I understand it's $50-$100! So, that $23,000 in 2017 is now at least $46,000 - and those prices are only going to increase. Don't forget to include the gas to drive to and from those appointments, 15-20% tips, 15% tax and the time you have to set aside to go to that appointment.
